Le Carnaval des animaux

[FR] Au royaume des animaux, les lois de la nature semblent abolies. Les kangourous enchaînent les sauts périlleux, les zèbres jonglent avec une aisance déconcertante, les éléphants battent la mesure – et les dinosaures n’ont pas dit leur dernier mot.

Après les loups inquiétants de Wolf, la compagnie australienne Circa troque la meute pour la ménagerie. Librement inspiré du Carnaval des animaux de Camille Saint-Saëns, le spectacle transforme la scène en joyeux bestiaire : sept acrobates, nez rouge et fraise au cou, font surgir portés, pyramides humaines et cabrioles, et avec eux des créatures terrestres, marines et imaginaires. Tour à tour drôles, surprenantes et délicieusement turbulentes, elles rappellent que, chez Circa, la prouesse naît toujours du plaisir de jouer.

[EN] In the animal kingdom, the laws of nature seem suspended. Kangaroos rattle off somersaults, zebras juggle with disarming ease, elephants keep the beat – and the dinosaurs haven’t had their last word.

After the menacing wolves of Wolf, Australian company Circa swaps the pack for the menagerie. Loosely inspired by Camille Saint-Saëns’s Carnival of the Animals, the show turns the stage into a joyful bestiary: seven acrobats, red noses and clown ruffs, hoist one another aloft, pile into human pyramids, and tumble head over heels – conjuring up creatures of land, sea, and imagination. By turns funny, surprising, and delightfully unruly, they remind us that, at Circa, sheer skill is always born of the joy of play.
