Dans Materia, le circassien italien Andrea Salustri sublime le polystyrène — ce dérivé plastique omniprésent — pour en faire un partenaire de jeu à part entière. Tout au long de cette partition chorégraphique singulière, l’interprète s’efface progressivement, laissant toute la place à l’objet et à une exploration sensorielle à la fois immersive et hypnotique.

Sous les regards émerveillés des petit·e·s et des grand·e·s, la matière s’anime, flotte et vibre, oscillant entre hésitations délicates et mouvements dynamiques qui conjuguent sérénité et chaos. In Materia, Italian circus artist Andrea Salustri elevates polystyrene — that omnipresent plastic derivative — into a fully-fledged stage partner. Throughout this extraordinary choreographic journey, the performer gradually steps back to make way for the object and an immersive, hypnotic sensory experience.

Under the amazed gaze of both young and old, the material awakens — gliding, vibrating, floating, shifting from delicate hesitations to dynamic movements that balance moments of serenity and bursts of chaos. Salustri’s performance does not impose a narrative but instead invites each viewer to let their imagination wander, guided by the spellbinding imagery on display.
